iDIA-QC V2: Join us!
Building on a multi-center collaboration spanning nine institutions and 21 mass spectrometers, we developed iDIA-QC, an AI-powered quality control framework for DIA-based proteomics, published in Nature Communications (2025) [1]. This framework established the critical value of standardized, cross-center quality monitoring. iDIA-QC V2 now expands this initiative to establish robust, community-wide QC standards for LC-MS proteomics.
1. Participation Overview
| Participation Duration | Instrument Compatibility | QC Sample | Mode |
|---|---|---|---|
| At least 3 months | All Orbitrap, timsTOF, and TripleTOF series | Mouse liver peptides powder | 1 injection per DIA run |
2. Acquisition Frequency
Twice weekly with 2-4 day intervals (e.g., Monday + Thursday or Tuesday + Friday)
3. Gradient Time
- Recommended (Effective Duration): 30 minutes
- Note: The actual effective duration can be adjusted based on the type of instrument and routine laboratory practices. But you may also use your favorite gradient, and we can normalize the RT afterwards.
4. Data Acquisition Requirements
4.1 Routine Acquisition
Acquire twice weekly during normal instrument operation Recommended schedule: Monday + Thursday OR Tuesday + Friday
4.2 Malfunction Acquisition
During instrument maintenance or repair:
- Acquire ≥1 injection prior to maintenance (if instrument is operational)
- Acquire ≥1 injection immediately following maintenance completion
- Document malfunction symptoms and corrective actions in the instrument maintenance log
5. Instrument Maintenance Documentation
Maintain comprehensive logs for all service activities:
- Routine maintenance (column replacement, ion source cleaning, calibration)
- Unplanned repairs and troubleshooting
- Software updates and configuration modifications
